Luis Fernando Midence
Luis Fernando Midence is an independent writer, director, and producer from Guatemala. He is the founder of the production company GuatGuy Media, a platform dedicated to exploring identity, visual storytelling, and Central American LGBTQ+ cinema. Midence is known for directing the landmark short film "Sin ruta" (2012), recognized as the first Guatemalan film to feature an openly queer character. His expanding filmography focuses deeply on queer narratives, featuring acclaimed works such as "Primero-Verdadero-Último" (2017), "Las cosas que no decimos" (2019), and "Un año sin sombra" (2025). Through his work with GuatGuy Media, Midence continues to pioneer authentic LGBTQ+ representation in regional independent cinema.
