Zoe Kavanagh
Zoe Kavanagh is an Irish writer, director and editor from Dublin. A graduate of the National Film School at IADT, where she earned a BA (Hons) in Film & Television, Kavanagh has built a career as an independent filmmaker known for ambitious genre storytelling and a hands-on approach to filmmaking.
She began directing music videos for international artists including Clan of Xymox, Julien-K, The Birthday Massacre and Restive Nation, before moving into narrative filmmaking with a series of short films including Tides, Wounded Ella, and the psychological horror short Inexorable.
Kavanagh made her feature directorial debut with Taryn Barker: Demon Hunter, an independently financed action-horror film that earned multiple festival awards, including Best Director at the HorrorHound Film Festival, and launched the Taryn Barker franchise. She later wrote and directed the sequel, Demon Hunter: Time 2 Kill, expanding the series with a blend of supernatural horror, action, slasher, dark comedy, and time-travel adventure.
Her films draw inspiration from cult genre cinema while emphasizing practical effects, character-driven storytelling, and ambitious world-building on independent budgets.
