Christian Kamaal is a filmmaker and musical artist from Rocky Mount, North Carolina, who discovered his passion for storytelling at age 15. His musical compositions have earned over 2 million streams and placement on Joe Budden's podcast. While studying at North Carolina A&T, he began directing music videos, which led him to pursue an MFA in Film and TV Production at USC's School of Cinematic Arts. His directorial work has garnered significant recognition: "BLACKIFIER" won the Grand Prize Student DGA Award for Best African American Film in the West Coast Region, Best Student Film at the Diversity in Cannes Short Film Showcase, and aired on American Airlines for over 25 consecutive weeks, while his visual album "MALTA" was an official selection at the 2022 American Black Film Festival. Kamaal continues creating storytelling that challenges societal norms and pushes creative boundaries through unflinching examination of complex subject matter.
